Kingfisher Toastmaster On Winning Streak Seaton Rises to District Humor Contest Roberta Seaton was among the top two winners at the Toastmasters Division 0 Conference on Saturday evening, October 9. Reprising her speech "Go Granny Go" Seaton had the crowd roaring as she recounted the adventure of traveling to Seoul, Korea to visit her fourth baby grandchild. During her eventful flights, nothing could stop the indomitable Seaton, be it "orange card" luggage checks, mal- functioning escalators, rebooks of flights, reboots of airline computer systems, or halts by security systems. Roberta made it to Korea to hug her grandchild, but had the audience breathless with suspense and laughter as she recounted the story. Seaton will continue upward to the District Competition in Tulsa on October 30th. Seaton is pictured with Past International Contest Winner Dave Ross, who served as Toastmaster for the event, and First Place winner Donna Brown.Nine local Toastmasters and Roberta-boosters, including new Toastmaster member Kurt Henderson, attended the event at the MacArthur Church of Christ and enjoyed a "tailgate" buffet after which the five contestants presented speeches. Local Toastmaster Worth Lambert said, "All the speeches were great. My face was literally tired from laughing."
